September 8 Las Vegas, NM

It's been interesting to note the people we know or that they know the same people we know. This morning at the KOA camp, while doing laundry, I was talking with a Mennonite lady. They had moved from Kansas earlier this summer. And Yes! we both know the same family from McPearson, KS. I love it!

We ate breakfast at an outdoor resturant at the camp. Not only was that a cool thing to do - it was cool! (or maybe cold!) It's around 7000' elevation there and it felt like fall.

Before we left camp, a lady came over to our rig to give us a care package! They are SDA's and could tell by our truck that we were too. One thing you can't do on this job, is to go behind the trailer for a smoke - cause you know someone will see you! Oh, I forgot, I gave that up. Anyway, that was such a sweet thing for her to do.

Our sale today was in Las Vegas. It was a good sale. Probably the whole Church was there waiting for us.

I would like it better if our Churches would have signs posted. U-turns with the truck and trailer aren't fun. During our second u-turn, someone from the Church accidently drove by us and told us to follow them. Then we still had to turn around again, to get on the right side of the street. We couldn't go down their narrow, steep dirt driveway, so we parked off the highway in front of the the church and had our sale there.

Once again, everyone kept telling us how glad they were that we came. That is so nice!

We had to get a new belt on the air conditioner while in town. It went out yesterday morning on our way to Santa Fe, and it was very hot in the truck. It works fine now.

We started to Oklahoma City so we culd restock, but got such a late start, that we only make it as far as Amarillo, TX. Tomorrow is going to have WAY TOO MUCH driving to suit me.
